Atlas, in Greek mythology was the strongest of the Titans who, after a losing an epic battle with Zeus, was condemned to forever bear the weight of the heavens on his shoulders.
His name means he who suffers and endures.
For us, Atlas resonates because when you have depression it can feel like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. Too often this weight we carry is a punishment that we inflict on ourselves, with the way we think and feel about ourselves.
It is also a reminder that despite this weight we are under, we are strong and we will endure our current state of suffering to see brighter days.
